The rich diversity of world-class research conducted by faculty in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology provides abundant educational opportunities for students interested in state-of-the-art research in the biomedical sciences. In addition to a variety of individual investigator-driven research projects, the department has a number of collaborative research groups working on everything from gap junctions to drugs and environmental safety (more in detail).
Undergraduate Program
The Department of Physiology and Pharmacology offers Undergraduate Program Modules leading to Honors, Majors and Minors in Physiology and Pharmacology as well as joint specializations with other scientific disciplines (more in detail).
Graduate Program
The Department of Physiology and Pharmacology is a research-intensive department with a strong commitment to graduate education. Our research and teaching associated with the Graduate Program in Physiology and the Graduate Program in Pharmacology & Toxicology emphasizes the multidisciplinary and integrative nature of these disciplines. Research is conducted at the molecular, cellular, organ, whole organism, and clinical levels. Our mission is best described as "exploring and teaching the wisdom of the body" (more in detail).
Resources and Services
The Department provides information on Human Resources, Health and Safety, Purchasing and Research Resources and Facilities to the current members of Physiology and Pharmacology (more in detail).
